With light, the camera will then work.

“Whether you’re a cameraman or a director, you should ask yourself every now and then, ‘What am I trying to do?’ Be honest and keep things very simple.” -James Wong Howe, ASC

“If someone asked, ‘What did you think of the photography?’ and the reply was, ‘I don’t know. I didn’t notice it,’ then I would feel I had succeeded.” -Jack Cardiff, ASC, BSC

“Sometimes, I think having less money can lead to more artistry.” – Sven Nykvist, ASC

“There are no rules and there is no formula to filling the frame to please everybody. I’ve got this corny saying though: ‘There are three types of photography: good photography, bad photography, and the right photography. The right photography is what tells the story best.’” – Freddie Francis, BSC

I miss …

I miss …

Sep 22

I miss carrying a tripod on my shoulders the whole day …
I miss the adrenaline rush when a show is about to start …
I miss looking through the view finder of cameras …
I miss laying cables and taping them down …

I miss shooting – the happyness of shooting …

Day 9 post hemostasis

Day 9 post hemostasis

Sep 20

It been a pretty quiet month. all thanks to my throat. well at least i prove that shooting is still in my blood.

can one imagine losing half a body of blood by an artery burst in the throat? once in a life time experience.

after today it will be day 10. am keeping still. no big movements. hoping history doesn’t repeat itself tomorrow.

on the lighter note, i got to experience the new Panasonic Lumix LX5 first hand. i’m a bit of an LX fan if the truth to be told. after all the journey started from LX1.

the mighty LXs – (from right to left) LX1, LX3 & LX5

The newer LXs like the LX3 and LX5 never fail to amaze me with its capabilities. in fact the LX3 is such a break through from the LX1. especially in the domain of macro functions.

can’t wait to get out of the 14 days period and get back to work. so long yet so short.

rest of the blacks & whites album can be found here

rest of the plants album can be found here

doing a simple HDR on the LX3 prove to be effortless too.

can’t wait to get back to work. it seem to been such a long time yet its only 1 month.
